    What does Bernoulli mean?

    Daniel Bernoulli (1700-1782) was a Swiss mathematician and physicist.

    He discovered the relation between the flow rate of a gas or fluid and its pressure.

    He found out that in a current an increase in velocity is always accompanied by a decrease in pressure. This discovery was later named as the “Bernoulli equation”.

    This equation is today still of extraordinary importance for aviation, as the avid pilot Daniel Schwerzmann is well aware. As coincidence would have it, the scientist and the managing director of Bernoulli Design not only share the same first name, but the name Bernoulli also contains the word “Bern”, most of the team’s hometown. Science, aviation and Bern, all things the team are passionate about. If that is not a sign, what is? And hence the name for this exciting venture was decided on Bernoulli.
